3. A game official (referee or an AR) is supposed to check the ID Cards against the game sheet.

4. The coaches have the right, and should, check the roster. This is permitted and encouraged as long as it does not delay the start of the game. If there are any concerns with the opposing teams roster it should be reported immediately to the game official.
5. What if the players do not have their ID Card at the start of the game? Back to Top
5. If a player can go and get their card and have it in time to show the game official at half time that is acceptable. However, if a player plays and does not provide the card to the official by the end of half time they will be considered ineligible and consequences will apply.

6. The coach/manager is supposed to cross absent players off. If they appear on the game sheet they are considered to have played.

7. There are a couple of methods. First you should take a look at the forum for teams looking for players and if you do not have any success there you can certainly send an e-mail into the OCSL requesting to have a post placed on the players looking for a team.
As well, contacting clubs (listed on our links page) is another method of attached.

9. My score isn’t posted. What is wrong? Back to Top
9. There is likely nothing wrong. Often, it takes several days to receive and verify game sheets being submitted by the game officials. Please be patient as there is a considerable amount of information that is processed from a single game sheet other than the score. Should the score not appear within 3 weeks please contact the OCSL office as there may be an issue with obtaining the game sheets from the game official.
10. My score is posted wrong or is appearing on my game but not in the standings. Back to Top
10. Please send an e-mail into the OCSL office (scores@magma.ca) as this could be the result of a number of things and we will verify the error and correct it.
11. If a player is supposed to serve a suspension what should appear on the game sheet Back to Top
11. As the coach/manager/team representative you need to make sure the player is listed on the game sheet and crossed off with suspended or under suspension written next to it. E.g. John Doe suspended
12. If a player is supposed to serve a suspension and the game does not get played, does the player still have to serve a suspension, or does it count? Back to Top
12. Yes. The player still ahs to serve the suspension and will serve it when the game gets rescheduled. If the game is not to be rescheduled please contact the Discipline Administrator for further information.
13. I received a card (red or yellow) in a game that was abandoned and not completed. Does my card still stand? Back to Top
Yes. Once a game official has issued a caution or dismissal it stands irregardless if the game is completed or not.
Equipment
14. Do we have to have a net? Back to Top
You HAVE to provide a net. If you do not there will be a financial penatly. But, if for some reason your net doesn’t make it to the game it is not cause for a game not to be played.
15. Do we have to have corner flags? Back to Top
15. Yes. You HAVE to provide corner flags or something that will act as an appropriate substitute. If you do not then there will be a financial penalty.
Forms
16. When do I need a play up form? Back to Top
A play up form is used when a player from a lower division is called to your team to play from your own club. They will still require their ID Card. Senior players can only play up 3 times and OT/30+ players can only play up 2 times. This form can be found on our website under forms.
17. When do I need a Temporary Registration Permit (TRP)? Back to Top
A team uses a TRP to have a player from another club play up. They will still require their ID Card
18. When can I use a Trial Permit? Back to Top
A Trial permit is used when a player is not registered anywhere and you want to try the player out for your team. Trial permits cannot be used after July 31 (roster freeze).
Playing up
19. What is playing up? Back to Top
Playing up is when a player who is registered in a Lower division plays for a team in a higher division. Competitive is the highest, followed by recreational followed by OT/W30+.
Based on the OSA rules the OCSL’s hierarchy for League play is shown below.
Also, new for 2010 player can call up from House leagues. Please ensure proper paperwork, TRP(from another club) or Play up (Same club) forms are filled out as required and the players have their own EODSA ID Card.
See table below for quick reference. A player can play up to any division that is higher on the table than their highest registered team.

Notes:
Ø A player can only play up from their highest registered team.
o A player registered to MP can only register in OT1. This player cannot play up to any other team.
o A player who is registered to OT1 and MC3 can play up to MC2, MC1 and MP if the opportunity arises.
Ø For all play ups, the relevant form is required.
Ø You cannot play across the levels.
o A player cannot play up between OT1 and MR1.
Ø Under no circumstances is a player allowed to play down.
Ø When dealing with any age specific categories play ups are still required to satisfy the age requirement.
Ø Women can play up on men’s teams but men cannot play on women’s teams.
Ø Should any of these situations occur the player will be considered ineligible.
o Any team playing an ineligible player will be subject to corrective action in addition to the forfeiture of points according to the published rules.
W30+ and Masters (50+):
In accordance with OSA published rules, the OCSL will allow for players registered to teams in W30+ and Masters (50+) to be permitted to play for another OCSL team in which the player is not registered. Players in W30+ and Masters (50+) may only play a total of 3 times on teams in which they are not registered.
In accordance with OSA published rules, the OCSL will allow for players registered to OCSL Recreational teams to be permitted to play for a W30+ and Masters (50+) team, provided they qualify by age, and in which the player is not registered. OCSL recreational players may only play a total of 3 times on teams in which they are not registered.
With each occurrence, the player is obligated to submit the appropriate permit at game time. Should a player not submit the completed permit, they will be considered ineligible.
o Any team playing an ineligible player will be subject to corrective action in addition to the forfeiture of points according to the published rules.
